SOS oPaddock connects people who must move their horses to safety and people offering places, transport or help. That's all.
In case of danger, follow the official instructions. They take precedence over everything you read here.

The bare minimum needed for the matching to work:
It never appears in the source code of the public pages. You have to click ยซ See the number ยป to display it, and we limit these reveals to 20 per hour. That's what stops a robot from harvesting all the numbers on the site.
It's asked of you explicitly, and the box is never pre-ticked. If one of your details was entered by an admin from a paper list or a spreadsheet, you receive a text with a link that lets you withdraw everything in one click. Your listing then carries the ยซ Unverified number ยป label until you've confirmed it.
Open your personal link (the one received by text), then ยซ Erase my data ยป. Everything goes: number, name, listings. If you've lost the link, request it again from My space: we send it back to you by text.
Automatic anonymisation. Three months after the emergency closes, all phone numbers, names and emails are erased. Only the statistics remain, with no personal data whatsoever.
We only send texts for what serves to move horses to safety: your management link, a booking, a confirmation, a cancellation, a reminder before expiry. Never any advertising. Chase-ups to check that your offer is still valid only go out between 9 am and 8 pm.
When an incident is closed, we may send you a single text to ask how it went, if you took part โ provided stabling, transported, helped, or evacuated your horses. It's a satisfaction survey, not marketing: we sell you nothing and promote nothing. This processing rests on our legitimate interest in improving the service and encouraging mutual aid.
If you reply, only the initial of your first name and your county may be displayed on the home page, with your rating and your text, after review. Never your name, your town or your number. You can refuse to be asked at any time, in one click from the text: this refusal is permanent and applies to all incidents, present and future.

It serves two purposes, and never decides on its own. First, to read the documents imported by admins: nothing is published without a human having re-read every line. Second, to suggest a better distribution when the algorithm hasn't placed everything: its suggestion is systematically checked against the database, and rejected at the slightest inconsistency.
